How many Landcare groups are there?

Landcare is a community based volunteer movement made up of individuals and groups who work on managing environmental issues in their local areas. There are approximately 4,000 Landcare and 2,000 Coastcare groups around Australia along with many thousands of schools involved in the Junior Landcare program. The exact number of volunteers is hard to calculate as many groups have a core team that runs the group’s activities with community volunteers donating their time at events such as planting days. Check if there are any existing groups in your area.
